Starting a Business, HUH?
Last month I started my own LLC. Setting one up is actually pretty easy (you fill out a form online and pay $130), but everything that goes into it can be quite confusing. Articles of organization, operating agreements, and bank accounts are only the beginning.
First of all if you have the money, hire an accountant. Taxes suck. Hiring a lawyer to help you out with all the legal documents is a close second, but all the necessary documents you need, you CAN find online.
What pushed me to write this blog post was the issues I was having just applying for a bank account.
Actually applying was painless. After applying, however, I received an email asking for a bunch of paperwork. So, I looked online and found a basic template for an operating agreement. I read over it and filled in all the blanks and it seemed pretty legit, so I faxed it.
My rep calls me the next day telling me I need to edit the operating agreement, because a certain section conflicted with my articles of organization. Well, I have no idea how to word the copy in an operating agreement, so I went back to Google.
I found ANOTHER operating agreement online and filled it out. That’s where I am so far. I’ll fax it over tomorrow and hopefully all the paperwork will be done so I can just get a bank account.
What to Register For?
I’ve never been inside a Babies ‘R Us before, but let me tell you, there’s A LOT of stuff. Amanda and I started the registering process online, but we were told it’s definitely worthwhile to get inside the store and check everything out. So we did.
If you’ve ever registered for a wedding before, this is very similar, the woman picks out everything. Honestly, it’s probably better that way anyway, because I don’t know anything about anything when it comes to baby stuff. I’m just excited to play with all the toys again.
Probably the coolest thing we saw was this crib. They make lifetime cribs which starts as a crib and keeps changing as the baby grows.
We’d be forever grateful if someone bought it for us *wink wink*.
Overall, registering went well, but since we’ve never been parents before we’re unsure of what we’ll actually NEED versus what’s the cool baby stuff. So, for all you parents, what’s something you just couldn’t live without? We’d love the advice.
New Patio Furniture
It’s another late night for Amanda at work, but the good news is she doesn’t have as far to drive when she clocks out. Throughout the night, she’s been texting me trying to figure out which patio set to buy for our new place. So far we were thinking of this set – which is pictured on the left.

Orange County Choppers
After two days of living in Tosa, I’ve come to realize two constants: Orange County Choppers and dogs. Currently, there’s more animals in this house than human beings. Five dogs make for a really crowded house especially in the mornings when they’re all full of energy.
As for Orange County Choppers, we watch no less than four episodes a day. It’s just loaded up on the DVR and ready for watching. I had never watched the show before staying here, but it’s actually pretty good.
As you may know, they make bikes. However, that’s definitely not what makes the show so good.
OCC’s watchability comes from the back and forth between father and son. The constant bickering between Paul Sr. and Paul Jr. never gets old. Furthermore, the shop is the perfect platform to tell the story of a family and the business they run.
As a side note, they’re located in Orange County New York not California. I didn’t realize that until I saw so much snow on the ground.
Have you ever watched it? What are your thoughts?
